One of the challenges of ship scale CFD validation is to know the actual characteristics of hull roughness before the sea trials.

For these purposes, JoRes team has successfully employed a unique underwater roughness scanner developed by the University of Melbourne.
This impressive dataset will help to better understand and simulate ship resistance.
