What did we learn about sea trials procedures over the last 75 years?

We all know that a vessel's actual sea trials measurements are affected by many external factors, such as waves, wind, and current. We need to remove these external factors to understand a vessel's real performance.
At the moment, the industry-recognised procedure for that is ISO 15016. However, researchers and engineers have used other techniques in the past to account for these external factors. Are you curious about the results of these different procedures?
With our iconic Lucy Ashton case (the one with the jet engines!), we can actually look into this! Rui Lopes and Geerhard Janse recently performed the studies, taking the original sea trials results from the 1950s and post-processing them with the modern ISO 15016 standard.
